A total washout!

There isnt a lot I can say about this weekend to be honest. The weather was horrendous! 50 mph winds and torrential saw Race Two abandoned and Race One more like a boat race than a bike race.

Following a positive Superpole on Saturday, everyone in the team was relatively happy with the package we had for race day. We knew the forecast for Sunday was mixed, but Tommy is a great rider in any condition so going into the races we were confident come rain or shine.

As most predicted, Race One was wet, seriously wet, but Tommy was ready to go. Unfortunately Tommys chances of a podium disappeared as the bike completely shredded the rear tyre. I dont know if it was setup or something to do with the tyre, but it was all but destroyed come the end of the race. Still, Tommy held on for a hard fought eighth position and I was just thankful that he managed to finish at all!

Following Race One the rain continued to pour and the wind was ripping every marquee in the paddock from the floor. The organisers attempted to run Race Two but that was prematurely ended as riders were falling everywhere. Eventually the decision was taken to cancel the race and run a triple header at Snetterton. Given the circumstances it was a wise decision.

Sadly Tommy lost his lead at the top of the Championship but the gap is really tight. Tommy still leads the field in terms of podium credits which is what really counts come the shootout at the end of the year. We all know we have the package and the rider to win this Championship.

Sadly Yukio is struggling for fitness as his latest scan picked up on a broken bone in his hand. Given this discomfort and swelling there was no way he could ride at Knockhill. Luckily he didnt miss out on too much. His specialist believes he should be fit and ready for the next round at Snetterton. Lets hope for better weather and better results.
