Ups and downs

Well Cadwell Park was the latest round for the team and to be honest it was weekend full of ups and downs. We had tested at the Lincolnshire circuit earlier in the year so we knew we had a good base setting to work from going into the weekend. Unfortunately things didn't go exactly according to plan!

Sadly Tommy was the sole Worx Crescent Suzuki rider as Yukio was suffering from a broken vertebra following a huge crash at Oulton Park. It looks like he is going to be out for at least 6-8 weeks. It's touch and go whether he will be fit going to the next round at Mallory Park. It's a shame for him and everyone in the team because he was just starting to get his teeth back into the Championship. I hope he is back with us very soon and showing everyone what he is really capable off.

Still on the other side of the garage Tommy continued his rich vein of form at Cadwell and managed to secure pole position with a blistering lap in Superpole. Sadly come race day we had mixed fortunes.

In race one Tommy was looking strong in second place until he caught his engine casing on the curb going through Hall Bends, causing him to crash out for the first time this year. To add to the problems, the bike caught fire which left us a massive job to get a bike prepared for race two.

Again in race two Tommy looked good, but by the time he had made his way up to second place, Josh Brookes had pulled a substantial gap. There was no way Tommy could catch him. Still second place was a great result to get in the bag, given the misfortune of race one.

Next up for us is Mallory Park, which is not a personal favourite of mine to say the least. I just feel the modern day Superbikes have outgrown the circuit. It has become quite dangerous in my view. Still we have to go there and do a job, so hopefully we can do that successfully. Fortunately Tommy's aggressive riding style seems to favour the tricky Leicestershire circuit and he always goes seems to go well there. I think we have a great chance. I just hope Yukio can be fit in time and continue to build from where he left off at Oulton Park. Fingers crossed!
