Jack's blog

Hi all. It's my first blog in a while so there's plenty to get through...

Sylvain had returned from injury at Cadwell, but had never ridden at Croft before. We tried to get a test in before the race weekend, but the noise restriction issues at the circuit put a stop to that. So, we travelled there completely blind and I can honestly say it's one of the worst race meetings I can remember.

Sylvain had two offs and was obviously low on confidence having just come back from a serious injury. He said his leg was fine but it was obviously playing on his mind as he was completely off the pace.

After Croft, we did a track day at Silverstone ahead of the BSB round there and that seemed to get Sylvain completely dialled in.

In between these two rounds, I also took some time out with some friends from the pub pool team. We had a long weekend away near Coventry. The majority of us play golf so the phone was turned off and I stopped thinking about bikes for a change!

On race day at Silverstone, Sylvain had a really bad start, but managed to put in a solid ride. We worked on his starts ahead of the final round at Oulton and he was very, very good. He was on it all weekend and pushing hard, which was encouraging to see, although I think that the contract situation may have hindered him slightly.

Now we've got to focus all our energy on next year. We've already confirmed Yuki and are looking to finalise who the second rider will be in the near future. Hopefully, the next time I post, I'll have some news!

All the best,
