Worx Suzuki retain Tommy Hill for Brands Hatch round

Following an eventful but impressive debut onboard the Worx Crescent Suzuki British Superbike at Mallory Park last weekend, Tommy Hill will once again pilot the 2009 GSX-R1000 at the next round of the series at Brands Hatch in Kent on August 9th.

Impressing the team instantly at Mallory Park, Hill was quick to acclimatise himself with the 2009 GSX-R1000, going quickest in first practice and qualifying second fastest for race day. Sadly while waiting to make his move for the lead on lap 23 of the first race, Hill was involved in a crash caused by Josh Brookes, forcing the race to be red-flagged and a result declared with Hill out of the race. A rain-soaked second race, with no real chance to perfect a wet weather set-up saw Hill finish in a solid eighth position.

Team manager, Jack Valentine: "Mallory was clearly a very disappointing round thanks to the actions of another rider, but Tommy impressed us hugely. While clearly very fast, Tommy is also very professional and gave the whole team the same feeling we had before Sylvain was unfortunately injured. For these reasons we are delighted to confirm that Tommy will be back with us for the next round of the series at Brands Hatch."

Tommy Hill added: "I was obviously disappointed not to turn our good pace at Mallory into a pair of good results. I was instantly very impressed by the Suzuki and of course riding with a team that has such a great pedigree in BSB gives me the best possible chance of success. Brands Hatch is my home circuit, so I'm very happy to be back on the bike for this round and feeling very confident now I've had some time on the bike now too."

The next round of the series takes place at the Brands Hatch GP circuit from 7th - 9th August.
