Good day at Guadix for Rizla Suzuki

THE rigorous testing schedule continued today for the hard working Rizla Suzuki team during day one of a three day test at Guadix in Spain.

Both riders, Tom Sykes and Atsushi Watanabe, worked on the different compounds of Pirelli tyres available to them whilst racking up an impressive number of laps. Sykes completed 93 laps of the tight, twisting 2.7km track and Watanabe completed a colossal 109 laps as he learned yet another new track.

The Japanese rider was surprised at how narrow the circuit was, describing it as Unbelievable, however, Team Manager Jack Valentine feels it will stand him in good stead for English tracks. He said: Guadix is very like Knockhill, it has a very tight hairpin and then a rise which lifts the front wheel. It is a relevant track for Atsushi to test on as it is what he will have to adjust too once he comes to the UK.

Cool but sunny weather provided good track conditions and the team is hoping for the same tomorrow. Both the riders are improving and we plan to start day two with some good settings, explained Valentine. Our aim is lots of laps and some fast times.
