Three of the most memorable machines ever produced by V&M are the limited edition 1200 Super Blackbird, the TT replica YZF-RF1 and the YZF-RF1 SP. All of these motorcycles follow the theory that success breeds success.
The CBR1200XX Super Blackbird was a state-of-the-art 200mph superbike that was produced to commemorate Honda UK's 50th anniversary. V&M had already culminated a successful relationship with Honda via management of the manufacturer's British Superbike, Supersport and Isle of Man TT race teams.
This relationship teamed with V&M's obvious expertise in the motorcycle industry made the company the perfect choice to produce the limited edition model.
Production of the YZF-RF1 and the YZF-RF1 SP were also the result of racing success. With the help of V&M, David Jefferies made motorcycling history when he scored victories in the final Senior and F1 TTs of the nineties.
The achievement was all the more astonishing considering that up until that point the classes had been dominated by pure race motorcycles. The victories guaranteed the machine the title of the ultimate road-going superbike. Demand for replicas of the TT-winning motorcycle was inevitably high and there was nobody better to produce them than the original race bike tuners V&M.
